Text-A-Tip

Text-A-Tip is a NEW service in Routt County and Moffat County that allows all community members (students, parents and anyone that can text) to ANONYMOUSLY report crime tips, such as:

  • Underage Drinking 
  • Suicidal Thoughts
  • Domestic Violence
  • Drunk Drivers
  • Illegal Drugs

The program is aimed to keep our schools and community safe.

Step 1: Create a text message to CRIMES (274637)

Step 2: Start the body of your message with the code GFTIPS R and continue to text the information you want to pass on.  Hit Send…

You will receive a confirmation message if your tip is received.

So, When you see or hear something that you know isn’t right....text a tip via your cell phone. Local police cannot see your identity, even if they text you back for more info.


Remember, this is strictly a system set up for the public to send tips via text messaging to the police anonymously; it is not to be used for emergencies.
