Dervla has been with Grand Futures since February 2009. Prior to joining Grand Futures, Dervla was an attorney with a local law firm in Steamboat Springs, practicing in the areas of corporate law, civil litigation, and home owners’ association representation. Before moving to Steamboat Springs in August 2007, Dervla served as a public defender in Western Kentucky, specializing in juvenile law and juvenile representation. Dervla is committed to assisting youth in breaking free from the cyclical problems which result and revolve around substance use and abuse, as well as in helping youth to find positive role models in their community.

Dervla received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee in 2000 and a J.D. from the University of Louisville, Brandeis School of Law in Louisville, Kentucky in 2005. She and her husband moved to Steamboat Springs with their beagle, Molly, in order to live and enjoy life in the beautiful Yampa Valley. She enjoys skiing, hiking, traveling, and running in her spare time.

Matt has been with Grand Futures since July 2008. A 1992 graduate from Moffat County High School who had personal battles with drugs and alcohol. Beckett overcame his addictions and has been sober since 2002. He was a member of Moffat County advisory board during many years of his sobriety. He credits his personal success in recovery to the time he spent on that board and focusing on the drug and alcohol issues in Moffat County. Prior to joining Grand Futures, Matt studied Graphic Design at Platte College in Denver, Colorado and worked for a local sign shop before purchasing the business in 2004 and also serves as a volunteer firefighter with Craig Fire/Rescue.

Matt is married to Stephanie and has two young children, Hunter and Holden. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and serving his community with the fire department.

Amy Tekansik has been with Grand Futures since July 2009. Amy is a Colorado Native who left the Denver-area to move with her husband and two children to Grand County in 2007, seeking to raise their children in the mountains they love. Amy’s professional background includes 18 years as a public relations and marketing professional, working primarily in the non-profit sector as a consultant. More recently, Amy earned her Master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of Colorado at Denver and works as a counselor focused largely on couples, individuals and adolescents and their families dealing with a wide variety of issues including  substance abuse.  Her counseling work with Grand County Social Services and Juvenile Services has made Amy passionate about increasing pro-social opportunities for Grand County’s youth and families.

In her free time, Amy hikes, reads, skis and generally enjoys the beautiful Fraser valley with her family.
