Steamboat Springs Parks and Recreation runs a host of sports and recreation programs for all citizens, young and old.  These programs include summer camps, mountain bike races, basketball and hockey leagues, and alternative activities for teens.  In addition, they maintain all parks and open spaces and could be a great place to get a summer job.

Launched in 1995, QuitNet is the web's original quit smoking site. The QuitNet is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to anyone who has access to the internet. First Call 211 exists to help people make connections: to services they need, to volunteer opportunities, and to places they can donate goods, services, and financial support.  It is a great place to visit if you need information or a referral.  Visit their website or call 211 in Moffat or Routt Counties to get or to give help.

Grand County STEPP Tobacco Prevention Partnership
The Grand County Tobacco Control program is also committed to improving the quality of life and air in our communities through education, prevention and the promotion of healthy, tobacco free life practices. This community partnership works to prevent children and youth from beginning tobacco use, support youth and adults to quit tobacco use, reduce exposure to secondhand smoke, and promote the benefits of tobacco free and smoke free lifestyles. This program is contracted by Grand Futures – Grand County from the Grand County Public Health Nursing Service.

Justice Assistance Grants, or JAG funds, are intended to provide agencies with the flexibility to prioritize and place justice funds where they are needed most. JAG funds can be used for state and local initiatives, technical assistance, training, personnel, equipment, supplies, contractual support, and information systems for criminal justice for many purpose areas.   Grand Futures is in their 7th year of funding from Colorado Division of Criminal Justice.

Drug Free Communities Support Program

On June 27, 1997, the Drug-Free Communities Act of 1997 became law. This Act is a catalyst for increased citizen participation in efforts to reduce substance use among youth, and it provides community anti-drug coalitions with much-needed funds to carry out their important missions.  This anti-drug program provides grants of up to $100,000 to community coalitions that mobilize their communities to prevent youth alcohol, tobacco, illicit drug, and inhalant abuse.  The Drug-Free Communities Support Program enables the coalitions to strengthen their coordination and prevention efforts, encourage citizen participation in substance abuse reduction efforts, and disseminate information about effective programs. Grand Futures is in their 8th year of funding from Drug Free Communities.

Compassion Capital Fund Targeted Capacity Building Program

Created in 2002, the Administration for Children and Families' Compassion Capital Fund (CCF) is a key component of the President's Faith-Based and Community Initiative.
The primary purpose of the CCF is to help faith-based and community organizations increase their effectiveness, enhance their ability to provide social services to serve those most in need, expand their organizations, diversify their funding sources, and create collaborations to better serve those in need.

The Grand Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life in Grand County, Colorado by proactively addressing current and future needs in the areas of Health & Human Services, Education, Environment, Amateur Sports and Arts & Culture.   Grand Foundation events raise awareness and funds that, combined with our donor advised funds and other planned giving initiatives, enable us to provide grants to nurture and support qualified local non-profits

Moffat County Human Resource Council (HRC)

The Moffat County Human Resource Council is a group of agency representatives and individuals with a vested interest in local community service affairs. It’s purpose is to provide support funding and information to its members, collaboratively seek financial support, act as a collective voice, coordinate services to avoid duplication, and increase awareness regarding community service needs and activities. Funding dollars are given to the HRC from the City of Craig and Moffat County. An allocation board representing with representation from the HRC, the city, county and community members at large allocate funds to the membership through a competitive grant process each year.

Moffat County United Way

The Moffat County United Way is committed to serve the health and humanitarian needs of the community. They raise and provide funding to more than 30 human services organizations in Moffat County each year. Grand Futures has been a recipient of United Way funding for the past 8 years.

Routt County Human Resource Coalition

The Routt County Human Resource Coalition is a network of health and human service professionals that work collectively to address community problems.  Grand Futures Prevention Coalition is a member of this coalition and has provided leadership to the group regarding the 40 Developmental Assets and comprehensive community-wide prevention planning.

Routt County United Way

The Routt County United Way raises funds and provides support for the health and human service needs of Routt County residents.  They also provide administrative support for the Human Resource Coalition and provide volunteer opportunities for residents such as the Day of Caring or Christmas Wishes/Toys for Tots. 

Tony Grampsas Youth Services (TGYS) Tobacco Initiative

TGYS Tobacco Initiative funding is intended to support tobacco prevention, education, and cessation programs for children, youth and young adults in Colorado. The funds are made available through the passage of Amendment 35, the tobacco tax ballot initiative passed in November 2004 and House Bills 05-1262, the enabling legislation for Amendment 35 signed into law on June 2, 2005.

Yampa Valley Community Foundation

These funds are then awarded nonprofit organizations, like Grand Futures Prevention Coalition, in the Yampa Valley in northwest Colorado on an annual basis.
